Network Station - AS/400: Resolution to eSuite Message EST0310

Problem:

Installation of eSuite on AS/400, error message:

EST0310 Error occurred starting Java RMI registry server. Reasoncode 2, Cause . . . . . :An error occurred while attempting to start the Java RMI registry server. The reason code received is 2. The reason codes and their meanings follow:

• 2 - Errors encountered while accessing TCP/IP information.

Display: CFGTCP Opt 10?

• 127.0.0.1 LOOPBACK
• LOOPHOST
• 192.x.x.x TEST1.SERVER.COM
• TEST1 S1020641

CFGTCP Opt 12?Host Name ........ 'TEST1'
Domain Name ...... 'TEST1.SERVER.COM'

Solution:

1. You have a conflict in your parameters re your domain name.
2. Normally your hostname is prefixed to your domain name to arrive at your fully qualified TCP/IP name.It appears you want the AS/400 hostname to be: test1
3. If you want your domain to be: server.com then in CFGTCP option 12 you must change your domain name to: server.com .
4. If on the other hand you want your domain to be: test1.server.com , then in CFGTCP option 10 you must change your one hostname entry from: test1.server.com to: test1.test1.server.com . It might confuse something if you have a name test1.test1...
