IBM IntelliStation/IBM PC - High speed USB devices fail to function properly

Applicable to: LA, AP-N, AP-S

Symptom:
High speed USB (Universal Serial Bus) devices such as scanners, digital cameras, printers, and displays may hang, fail to function properly or not be recognized by application software. Keyboards and mice are low speed devices and are not affected.

Problem isolation aids:
A limited number of systems within the following machine types may be affected by this problem.

IBM PC 300GL - 6265, 6275, and 6285
IBM PC 300GL - 6272, 6282, and 6284
IBM PC 300PL - 6562 and 6592
IBM PC 300PL - 6862 and 6892
IBM IntelliStation E Pro - 6893
IBM IntelliStation M Pro - 6889 and 6898
IBM IntelliStation Z Pro - 6865

This tip applies only when all of the following conditions are met:



Fix:
Once it is determined that a hardware problem exists, use normal service procedures to replace the system board.
