TP General - Choppy audio or skipped frames during DVD playback

Applicable to: World-Wide

Symptom:
During DVD playback, the DVD movie experiences choppy audio or frames are skipped. This occurs when:

  1. Animation of opening dialogue boxes occur
  2. Moving the DVD playback window


Configuration:
Any ThinkPad with the ability to play DVD movies running Windows 98.

Solution:

  1. Turn animation off by clicking on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Display -> Effects, and uncheck the Animate windows, menus and lists setting.
  2. Turn off Window contents while dragging by clicking on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Display -> Effects, and uncheck the Show Window contents while dragging setting.
