PC-Doctor Drive Specialist - bootable diskette Version 1.1 Installation README This package creates a self-starting, DOS diagnostic utility you can use to detect failing hard drives. Lenovo and PC Doctor, Inc, the maker of PC-Doctor diagnostic software, have developed a highly effective diagnostic application designed specifically to support the ThinkCentre and ThinkPad products. Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation. Downloading the package ----------------------- 1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page. 2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save the downloaded file, be sure to select a path that does not have a space in its name. Extracting the package to diskette ---------------------------------- Installing this update involves creating a bootable diskette and running the program from the diskette. Before you begin, have a blank 1.44 MB diskette ready. 1. Click Start, select Find or Search, then click Files and Folders. 2. Insert a blank 1.44MB floppy diskette into the diskette drive. 3. Type t7gt02a.exe in the search field, then click Find Now. This will locate the file you just downloaded. 4. Double-click the t7gt02a.exe icon. 5. Follow the onscreen prompts. The necessary files will be extracted to the diskette. 6. Label the diskette as "PC-Doctor Drive Specialist". Starting the PC-Doctor Drive Specialist program from a diskette --------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Shut down and turn off the computer. 2. Wait 10 seconds. 3. Insert the diskette labeled "PC-Doctor Drive Specialist" into diskette drive A. 4. Turn on the computer. The main menu will be displayed. 5. Follow the on-screen menus.
