Installation Readme


VIA Hyperion 4 in 1 driver includes four system drivers to improve
the performance and maintain the stability of systems using VIA
chipsets. These four drivers are:

- VIA Registry (INF) driver is to be installed under Windows. The
  driver will enable VIA Power Management Controller.

- VIA AGP Gart driver is to be installed if you are using an AGP
  VGA card. VIAGART.SYS will provide service routines to your VGA
  driver and interface directly to hardware, providing fast
  graphical access.

- VIA ATAPI Vendor Support driver enhances compatibility with IDE
  devices.

- VIA PCI IRQ Miniport driver installs under Windows 98 only. It
  will improve the PCI IRQ routing sequence.

For Windows NT users, VIA IDE Bus Mastering driver is the only
driver to be installed to your system


This update takes approximately 5MB of space on your hard drive.

Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation.


Downloading the update
----------------------
1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.
2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save
   the downloaded file.


Extracting the update
---------------------
1.  Click Start, select Find or Search, then click Files and folders.
2.  Type q4chp01us13.exe in the search field, then click Find Now.
    This will locate the file you just downloaded.
3.  Double-click the q4chp01us13.exe icon.
4.  Click Next. Read the license agreement.
5.  Click I accept the terms in the license agreement.
6.  Click Next.
7.  Ensure that "Save files in folder" is set to
    C:\IBMTOOLS\drivers\q4chp01us13.
8.  Click Next.
9.  Click Finish.


Installing the update
---------------------
1.  Click Start, then click Run.
2.  Type C:\IBMTOOLS\drivers\q4chp01us13\Setup.exe, then click OK.
3.  Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
