Installation Readme


This package installs an update to the firmware for IBM MultiBurner
Plus DVD recorders based on the HLDS GSA-4082B drive (option p/n
73P3305 or FRU 26K5383).

This update requires approximately 4MB of space on your hard disk
(drive C).

Print this file so that you can refer to it during the installation.


Downloading the update
----------------------
1. Click the file link to download the file from the Web page.
2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save
   the downloaded file.


Installing the update
---------------------
1.  Click Start, select Find or Search, then click Files and folders.
2.  Type gsa4082b_a2081.exe in the search field, then click Find Now.
    This will locate the file you just downloaded. 
3.  Double-click the gsa4082b_a2081 icon.
4.  Click Next. Read the license agreement.
5.  Click I accept the terms in the license agreement.
6.  Click Next.
7.  Ensure that "Save files in folder" is set to
    C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\GSA4082B.
8.  Click Next. The firmware update utility will run automatically.
    It will search your system for devices of the appropriate type
    and display them in the drop-down menu.
9.  Select the GSA-4082B drive that you want to update in the
    drop-down menu. Ensure that its current firmware level is less
    than A208 before proceeding.
10. Click the Update button and wait until the process is complete.
11. Click No when propted to reboot the system.
12. Shut your computer all the way off, then proceed with normal
    operation.
