PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS: This tip applies, but is not limited to IBM PC300PL Series 6862/6892 systems preloaded with Windows95. The hang condition may also be seen in other systems where the IBM Welcome Center Software Installation utility can be used to install IBM AntiVirus and other applications together. After IBM AntiVirus is installed, it minimizes itself to the taskbar and begins the initial virus scan. This scan activity may cause applications that install afterwards to hang during their installation. FIX: To correct the hang condition, allow IBM AntiVirus to complete its initial virus scan. Close IBM AntiVirus and restart the ClientCare installation. When selecting applications to install, IBM AntiVirus should be at the bottom of the application list so that it installs last and can be allowed to complete the initial virus scan.
