H162298: PC SERVER 325/330: SOME DIMM'S MISSING FRU AND OPTION P/ N'S TEXT: The original supply of DIMM's for the 325/330 PC Servers type 8639 model EJ0/ES0/ESV/RS0/PT0/PTW/PB0/RB0 and type 8640 model ES0/ES2/ESS/EM2/PT0/PB0/PM0 are missing FRU and OPTION part numbers on the IBM label. This problem has been fixed in present manufactured stock. While positive identification of installed memory (using FRU and OPTION part numbers) in a Server is a standard procedure when troubleshooting, the memory can be identified by referencing the "Assembly part number" on the IBM Label (located on the DIMM). Use the chart below to cross reference the Assembly part numbers: Assy.p/n FRU p/n Option p/n Size ------- ------- ---------- ---- 63H0935 12J4121 94G6473 32MB 63H0936 12J4122 94G6474 64MB 63H0937 76H0656 94G6475 128MB 63H0938 12J4123 94G7079 256MB The following diagram identifies the location of the Assembly Part Number (Assy.p/n) on the IBM Label attached to the DIMM. _____________________ Assembly # 63H0937 т _____________ Header code Jxxxx __т___ __т__ (total of 22 char.) ______________________________________________ т тттттттттттттттттттттттт <--Barcode т т xxx63H0937xJxxxxxxxxxx Fru: ------- т т MB NS т<-------- т ___ ___ т IBM Label т т т т т\/т Opt: ------- т т т т--т т т т т _т_ т__т т т т т______________________________________________т NOTE: Refer to RETAIN Record# H161527 for other Memory related issues that pertain to these same type/model PC Servers.
