1.0  Overview
______________________________________________________________________

     Issues addressed:

     APAR IC33070 -  IBM Director 2.2.1 erroneously reports CPU 
     temperature exceeds threshold on boot.
                                    

     Symptoms:
     
     After each reboot, on certain IBM systems running Director 2.2.1 
     under Windows NT and above, the following erroneous alert is 
     generated:
      
       "Temperature sensor 0 exceeded threshold of 59 degree celcius. 
       The current value is 61 celcius"

2.2  Other APARs included in this eFix.

     APAR IC31465 - UM Services 2.2 with Service Pack 1 does not have 
     AOL support for the 8672 and 8481 in addition to lacking 
     fan/temperature support for the 8481 

     APAR IC29635 - There is no temperature sensor support for the IBM 
     Model 6842 under Universal Management Services 2.2.


3.0  Installation Instructions 
______________________________________________________________________


3.1  This eFix should be applied to the following configurations:
     
     Universal Manageability Services 2.2.1
 

3.2  This eFix is to be applied to the following operating systems:

     Windows 2000 Server
     Windows 2000 Professional
     Windows NT 4.0 Server
     Windows NT 4.0 Workstation
             
        
3.3  Primary installation method:  Run IC33070.exe
     
     This will automatically extract the necessary files and start
     the eFix installation process. Follow the prompts to 
     complete the installation
     
        *NOTE: This eFix requires administrator privileges to install.
        
        *NOTE: This eFix requires a system reboot.               

4.0   Configuration Information
______________________________________________________________________

4.1   This eFix is intended for version 2.2.1 of the configurations
      listed above in section 3.1 and 3.2.  
       
      This eFix is not intended for use with other versions of the
      product and may cause serious functionality problems or data 
      loss if misused.  Do not install this eFix on versions or 
      configurations other than those listed in this readme.

5.0   Unattended Mode

5.1  The IC33070.iss file provided with this eFix must be used due to 
     an InstallShield 3 installation recording limitation.  The 
     following example command line syntax should be used with the 
     eFix IC33070 executable:
     
        C:\fixes\IC33070.exe /s /a /s /f1C:\fixes\IC33070.iss
