The following is a list of supported features: 2.1. Software/Hardware Features - Support for the SPI-4 "Ultra320" standard: - 320MB/s transfer rates - Packetized SCSI Protocol at 160MB/s and 320MB/s - Quick Arbitration Selection (QAS) - Domain Validation - Initiator Mode - Support for the PCI-X standard up to 133MHz - Support for the PCI v2.2 standard 2.2. Operating System Support: - Sco Open Server 5.0.7 Refer to the User's Guide for more details on this. 3.0 Installation and Setup Instructions --------------------------------------- 3.1. Installing Sco Open Server 5.0.7 with an Ultra320 SCSI Controller 1) Install the Ultra320 adapter and power on your system. 2) Boot from the 5.0.7 CDROM. 3) Type in "restart link=ad320" when prompt with boot: 4) Insert the Adaptec btld driver disk for U320. 5) The driver is copied into the install at this point. Continue installing the operating system as normal. 3.2. Installing the Driver when the OS is Already Installed 1) Insert the Adaptec Sco U320 HBA driver disk into the floppy drive. 2) Type in: mount /dev/fd0 /mnt btldinstall /mnt and press enter. Wait for the post install script ask for the name of the module then keyin the module name and enter. 3) Make sure to relink the kernel by issuing the command "/etc/conf/bin/idbuild". After afew simple questions the procedure is then done. 4.0 Command Line Options ------------------------ WARNING: ALTERING OR ADDING THESE DRIVER PARAMETERS INCORRECTLY CAN RENDER YOUR SYSTEM INOPERABLE. USE THEM WITH CAUTION. Edit the file "space.c" in the directory /etc/conf/pack.d/ad320 in order to change the following commands: ---------------------------------------------------------------- Option: ad320_do_tagged=[0,1] Definition: Enables/disables tagged command queuing for all drives. Possible Values: 0 (off), 1 (on) Default Value: 1 (on) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Option: ad320_do_sgatter=[0,1] Definition: Enables/disables sgatter/gather for all drives. Possible Values: 0 (off), 1 (on) Default Value: 1 (on) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Option: ad320_hw_map=[0,1] Definition: switch between I/O mapped mode and memory mapped mode. Possible Values: 0 (I/O mapped), 1 (Memory mapped) Default Value: 0 (I/O mapped) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Option: ad320_scan_lun=[0,1] Definition: switch between I/O scan lun and not to scan lun mode. Possible Values: 0 (not to scan lun), 1 (scan lun) Default Value: 0 (lun scanning disabled) ---------------------------------------------------------------- 5.0 Additional Notes -------------------- 5.1. Operating System or Technology Limitations 5.1.1. Open Server 5.0.7 don't supports ACPI Power Management. 5.1.2. Ultra320 hard disk drive support Adaptec only supports Ultra320 hard drives that have the latest firmware available.
