This driver is necessary on HS20 (8835) systems using the built-in IDE RAID feature. 2.0 CHANGE HISTORY ------------------ SLES 8 SP3 Installation Package: 1.0 (Initial Release) Filename: sles8-sp3-i386-megaide-5.06a.tgz MegaRAID Device Driver: 5.06a Filename: megaide.o 3.0 Installation and Setup Instructions ----------------------------------- These installation instructions assume the following environment: - SLES 8 for i386 platforms is being installed over the network from an NFS installation source. - SP3 has been integrated into this installation source. NOTE: SLES 8 SP3 has support for multiple driver updates to be included as part of the installation source. To do this, the driver packages are extracted into numerical directories, starting with "01", "02", etc., under the root of the installation source directory. The drivers are loaded in the numerical order based on these directory names. 1. Create a numerically named directory under the root of the installation directory with a numerical name not already in use. 2. Untar the package file into this directory. 3. Re-export the NFS share with the installation source. 4. Start the network install (for CSM users, run csmsetupyast and installnode). For more information on driver update media in SLES 8 SP3, see ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/hvogel/Update-Media-HOWTO/html/index.html 4.0 Configuration Information ------------------------- 5.0 Unattended Mode ---------------- 6.0 WEB SITES AND PHONE SUPPORT --------------------------- Information and assistance is available through the IBM Web site and by phone. 6.1 Web sites IBM Support Web Site: http://www.ibm.com/pc/support/ 6.2 Software service and support -------------------------------- Through IBM Support Line, you can get telephone assistance, for a fee, with usage, configuration, and software problems with xSeries servers, IntelliStation workstations, and appliances.
