Level of Recommendations and Prerequisites for the update: - none 1.5 Dependencies: - The LSI SAS device driver must be loaded. 2.0 Installion and setup instructions ______________________________________ 2.1 Install LSI SAS IR SNMP Agent using rpm -ivh sas_ir_snmp-1.0-1.i386.rpm 2.2 rpm will take care the necessary modification needed in the snmpd.conf file for running the agent. 2.3 For reference,a sample conf file (sas_ir_snmpd.conf) will be kept in the /etc/sas_ir_snmpd directory. 2.4 For running SNMP query from a remote m/c add the ip address of that m/c in the snmpd.conf file like this.. com2sec snmpclient 172.28.136.112 public Here ipaddress of the remote m/c is 172.28.136.112 2.5 For receiving snmp trap to a perticular m/c add the ip address of that m/c and the community name in the /etc/sas_ir_snmp/sas_ir_TrapDestination.conf like this... 172.28.136.112 public Note:: Line beginig with # is treated as commented. 2.6 Run the snmpd daemon.
