If you are upgrading an existing installation, use the source rpm provided in a tgz archive from the IBM support website. To create a diskette use the following procedure: 1. Place the image file in a temporary directory. 2. Insert a blank diskette into an internal or USB floppy drive. 3. In the same directory as the image file, type the following command: dd if= of= where is something like /dev/fd0 for an IDE floppy drive or /dev/sda for a USB floppy drive. 4. During SLES9 SP1 installation, press F6 at the initial boot screen.
