The Director Agent SNMP extension can provide several items of data from WMI. In domain environments, Win32_UserAccount and Win32_Group data comes from the domain, not the local system. In large domains with lots of users and groups, the SNMP agent will collect these objects, thus the increased memory usage. In some cases, this can exceed 100+M. The activity also causes WinMgmt to increase CPU usage while the collection is occuring. This may appear as a memory leak, but it is not. The collection will eventually complete and memory comsuption stabilize. During this time, SNMP traps may not be able to be sent. To resolve the issue, Win32_UserAccount, Win32_Group, and Win32_Thread will no longer be collected from WMI or provided by the Director Agent SNMP extension. 2.0 Change History ______________________________________________________________________ 2.1 Files Replaced or Added: 6/27/2002 2:29p 54,043 cimwin32.map 6/27/2002 2:26p 302,707 cimwin32.mib 3.0 Installation Instructions ______________________________________________________________________ 3.1 eFix IC33935 is for the following hardware configurations: ALL 3.2 eFix IC33935 is to be applied to the following operating systems: Windows XP Windows 2000 Server Windows 2000 Professional Windows NT 4.0 Server Windows NT 4.0 Workstation 3.2 eFix IC33935 is for the following software configurations: Director Server 3.1 Director Agent 3.1 3.3 Primary installation method: Run IC33935.exe This will automatically extract the necessary files and start the eFix installation process.
