1.0  Overview

Issues addressed:

APAR IC29386

o Universal Management Services 2.12 causes small, sequentially named
  files to be intermittently created in the system's root directory. 
        
        
o Symptoms:

  When Universal Management Services 2.12 is installed on any 
  supported Microsoft Windows operating system it may 
  intermittently cause sequentially named files to be created in the 
  system's root directory.

3.0  Installation Instructions 
______________________________________________________________________

 3.1  This eFix is to be applied to the following operating systems:

        Windows 2000 Server
        Windows 2000 Professional
        Windows NT 4.0 Server
        Windows NT 4.0 Workstation
        Windows ME
        Windows 98 SE
        Windows 98
        Windows 95
        


3.2  This eFix should be applied to the following Netfinity Director 
     configurations:
     
        Universal Management Services 2.12
        

        
3.3  Primary installation method: Run the self extracting executable
     IC29386.exe.  This will automatically extract the necessary files
     and start the eFix installation process. Follow the prompts to 
     complete the installation
     
        *NOTE: This eFix requires administrator privileges to install.
        
               The system should be rebooted after the eFix is applied
               to allow any changes to take effect.


    
4.0   Configuration Information
______________________________________________________________________

This eFix requires version 2.12 of Netfinity Director, UM Services, 
or UM Server Extensions where appropriate. This eFix is not intended 
for use with other versions of Netfinity Director or Director and may 
cause serious functionality problems or data loss if it is misused. 



5.0   Unattended Mode
______________________________________________________________________

Unattended installation of this package is not supported
