Note: The Boot Block jumper is located near the PCI-X Slot. Boot Block (SW4) jumper's pin 1 position for normal operation; pin 1 is on "OFF". ___ ON | | | Off | | | --- 1 2 Boot Block (SW4) jumper's pin 1 position for Boot Block Recovery; move pin 1 to "ON". ___ ON | | | Off | | | --- 1 2 2.4 Insert the "IBM x3400/x3500 System BIOS Crisis Recovery Diskette" into the fixed floppy diskette drive A. 2.5 Replace the top cover and reapply AC power to the system. 2.6 The system will boot into a special recovery mode. Note: There may be several minutes where the system will beep, as the recovery process proceeds. When the recovery is complete the system will shut down. 2.7 After the shut down, remove AC power from the system. 2.8 Remove the top cover from the system. 2.9 Move the Boot Block jumper (SW4) back its original location for normal operation covering pins 1 and 2. 2.10 Replace the top cover and remove the "IBM x3400/x3500 System BIOS Crisis Recovery Diskette" from the fixed floppy diskette drive A. 2.11 Verify that the DMI/SMBIOS strings are correct for the "IBM x3400/x3500 system.
