You can use the IBM Director Upward Integration Module (UIM) for CA Unicenter 2.4, 3.0, and 3.1 NSM to enable TNG to monitor IBM Director Agents. IBM Director Upward Integration Module (UIM) for CA Unicenter NSM integrates IBM Director Agent with Unicenter TNG, enabling TNG to monitor IBM Director Agent. IBM Director Agent is discovered and monitored by the Unicenter Distributed State Machine (DSM) and World View (WV) components. All trap messages sent by IBM Director Agent are formatted and forwarded to TNG console. Information can be collected across a widely dispersed enterprise network and made available in real-time to a single TNG console. IBM Director UIM for CA Unicenter NSM consists of the following three components: - Upward Integration Option for Unicenter DSM component - Upward Integration Option for Unicenter WV component - Upward Integration Option for Unicenter AMO Agent component 1.1 Limitations You must install the following Authorized Program Analysis Reports (APAR) fixes. You can download these APAR fixes from http://www.ibm.com/support. Use the APAR fix number to search this Web site. o IBM Director Agent 4.20.2 is required for Linux agent support. o AgentView for ServeRAID is not supported on Linux agents. o IC36176 - IBM Director 4.1 interim fix ensures the proper function of the Unicenter integration with IBM Director Agent 4.1. This APAR fix is available in IBM Director Agent, version 4.10.2 or later. o IC33063 - IBM Director 3.1.1 interim fix ensures the proper function of the Unicenter integration with IBM Director Agent 3.1.1. o It is recommended that you remove the UIM, version 3.1, and run the clean_sadmin and resetdsm commands before you install the new UIM. 1.2 Publications The following publications are available from the IBM Support Web site (see section 5.0, "Support Web sites"): o "IBM Director 4.20 Installation and Configuration Guide" o "IBM Director 4.20 Systems Management Guide" o "IBM Director 4.20 Upward Integration Modules Installation Guide" o "IBM Director 4.1 Events Reference" These publications are in Portable Document Format (PDF) and require Adobe Acrobat Reader to view them. 2.0 INSTALLATION An installation wizard is provided to install the IBM Director 4.20 UIM for CA Unicenter TNG.
