V1.00 - December 13, 2001 ------------------------- - Initial release 3.0 Installation and Setup Instructions The eflash update procedure for POST/BIOS follows: 3.1 Use the setup menus to review the settings and record any changes you have made to the default settings. You will have to restore unique settings after flash update is complete. 3.2 Download the "IBM eserver xSeries 360 eflash BIOS update" file xxxx.exe (executable file, accompanying this readme file) from the web to your hard drive. 3.3 Double-click the icon, a dialog box will show the package information. Click "Next" to continue. 3.4 The dialog box in step 3.4.1 will appear if the eflash is for your server. If it is not for your server, the diaglog box in step 3.4.2 will appear. 3.4.1 This dialog box will inform you that the update will shut down your machine. 3.4.1.1 You should close all other applications, saving data prior to continuing with the update. 3.4.1.2 Click "Update". Your system will automatically be shutdown, flashed and rebooted. 3.4.1.3 If no configuration errors are displayed during the reboot, the eflash update is complete and skip the following steps. 3.4.1.4 In some cases, configuration errors may occur during the reboot, if so go to step 3.5 3.4.2 Package and System Mismatch, can not proceed with eflash. Click "Exit" to end this program without the eflash update.
