It will not affect any device drivers. 1.2 Limitations Note that this Linux Update package will not run in a multi-node environment. For this update to be applied, each node of the multi-node complex must be configured as a single-node server. Once each node is configured as a single-node server, the Linux Update package can be applied. After the updated is applied, the multi-node complex can be reassembled. NOTE: The DOS Update package does not require disassembly of the multi-node complex. 1.3 Enhancements - none 1.4. Level of Recommendations and Prerequisites for the update: - Multi-lun support is needed in order to mount more then one remote drive simultaneously. The linux kernel 2.4.20 and later have the appropriate multi-lun support, however this support needs to be enabled at kernel build time. Currently, only the SLES 8.0 SP3 distribution has multi-Lun support available and enabled. It requires the installation of the correct Remote Supervisor Adapter II for Linux device driver. 3.1 Performing this code update (command line) ________________________________________________ - Run the "IBM xSeries 366 Linux Remote Supervisory Adapter II Update" from a command line with the "-s" parameter. "./.sh -s" where .sh is the downloaded update. 3.2 Extracting the Linux update files (command line) __________________________________________________ - Run the "IBM xSeries 366 Linux Remote Supervisor Adapter II Update" with the following command line: "./.sh -x " where .sh is the downloaded update and is the path to which the Linux update files will be extracted. NOTE: The following message is shown on RedHat Enterprise Linux 3.0 and other distributions that do not install the compatibility libstdc++ library. ./lflash: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory. If the above message is shown, install the compat-libstdc++*.rpm that was included on the distribution media. - The files extracted are all the files that are necessary to perform a RSAII firmware update under Linux.
