If you need to make sure your adapter is at BIOS 1.11, go to \BIOS: Copy all files into a DOS bootable diskette. Boot up the system ( with the HBA ) into DOS. With iFlash.exe, run: iflash /i /fb For more details, refer to readme files from \BIOS. 2) The adapter you have should be at firmware 3.0.0.4. Use iFlash.exe for firmware update if needed. The firmware 3.0.0.4 is available in \Firmware directory. The firmware file is Qla4010.dl. Run: iflash /i /ff For more details, refer to readme files from \Firmware. Note: You can also update the BIOS / Firmware for the HBA in the SANsurfer Management GUI, after you have the SANsurfer sw installed. 3) Install QLogic SANsurfer mgmt sw for Windows: Go to the WinSAN directory. pw is 'config" is prompted for pw during installation. 4) Install the HBA as an Initiator iSCSI Adapter: For SCSIport driver for Windows 2000 or 2003, go to the Windows SCSIport driver directory. Reade the Readme.txt and follow instructions. For Windows 2003, a STORport driver option is also provided in the Windows STORport driver directory. Note that the HBA is also hardware-capable as a Gigabit Ethernet NIC. But this function is NOT YET supported / offered for this current product. So, during the install, there will be an installation of a NULL driver since the adapter will be detected twice, one as a NIC and the other as an ISCSI storage device. The NULL driver is needed to get it through the detection and installation as a NIC device.
