These are changes which are or may be visible in a customer environment. This file lists: new features added, followed by: * defects resolved followed by * Usability Changes / Improvements followed by * known errata in BIOS 16a that will be resolved in the next release. Main BIOS features added: -------------------------- Description ------------ None Main Diagnostic Features added: ------------------------------- Description ------------ None Main BIOS errors corrected: -------------------------- Description ------------ Some Adaptec SCSI adapters (eg: AHA 131 and ARO-1130) have updated their adapter ROM code. The current ROM code is compressed and cannot be de-compressed during system boot time with System BIOS 16a or earlier. The adapters report a "BIOS Expand" message to the screen when this fail occurs. This has been resolved in BIOS 17a. The system processor cache was always enabled in BIOS 16a and 15b, even when set to disabled in System Setup. This has been resolved. In some scenarios when multiple ServeRAID II adapters are installed, an '1805' error can be displayed during system POST, occasionally resuling in the system boot halting. This has been resovled. DMI System information reported that Slot 1 in a PC Server 325, with Pentium II Processor was full length. It is however only half length - this has been resolved. Also, the 'baseboard' information returned was an incorrect codename - this has been replaced with the 'baseboard' partnumber.
