Windows XP and 2000 Drivers Enhancement for IBM Netfinity Gigabit Ethernet Adapter P/N 19K4401 This Win-Update.exe drivers package provides the latest Windows XP and Windows 2000 drivers release from 3Com for all Alteon-based 3C985 NICs family, which is compatible to IBM P/N 19K4401. 3Com now owns all Alteon-based Gigabit Ethernet NICs technologies. So all drivers released for 3Com 3C985 NICs family will work with IBM 19K4401 adapter. These drivers are NOT backward compatible with IBM v2.4 drivers software release. So users will need to completely un-install v2.4 drivers software and then re-install with this drivers software package. Updating by "Drivers Update" will NOT work. This software package includes the v1.8.3 Dynamic Access drivers for Advanced Server Features - and the v1.17.34 NDIS5 drivers. To install the adapter in Win XP or W2K, point to \Drivers directory. To install 3Com Dynamic Access program, run DASETUP.exe from \DA-SETUP. This drivers release fixes or enhances the following problem or feature: 1) Resolved a "Trap 1D" blue screen issue while loading the OS when running the adapter with current altvlan.sys from v2.4 sw release - or when modifying the NIC parameters. 2) Enhance TCP/IP performance and TCP segmentation offload with W2K and WXP. Requirements: Users need to install the latest Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack and the latest ndis.sys and tcpip.sys hotfixes.
