Install will add the following drivers to: CONFIG.SYS LASTDRIVE=Z DEVICE=\PCMCIA\PCMATCD.SYS /D:PCMCD001 and AUTOEXEC.BAT \PCMCIA\MSCDEX /D:PCMCD001 NOTE Caution: the drivers will be placed at the end of the CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files. Make sure CS and SS are loaded prior to PCMATCD.SYS, and MSCDEX before WIN statement (if included). Otherwise, CD-Rom will not be found in Windows, but upon exit, will then be found in DOS. EZPLAY should report card as ready. Wait until drive access light has cleared prior to access. No DIAGNOSTICS are shipped with the drive. In which case, if EZPLAY reports interface as ready and access light has cleared, then try to access drive with several data CDs, and if CDR101 is reported, try to simplify CONFIG.SYS and MSCDEX driver as the only line in AUTOEXEC.BAT after attempting to reload drivers. OS/2 2.1X and Warp Installation: 0) Does the system have PCMCIA Support loaded? 1) Make a backup of CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT. STEP1 1) Power on system to start OS/2 2) Open OS/2 SYSTEM FOLDER from the DESKTOP 3) Open the SYSTEM SETUP folder 4) Open the DEVICE DRIVER INSTALL folder 5) Insert PCMCIA CD-ROM Driver Diskette into A: drive 6) Select INSTALL, and install device driver 7) Select EXIT and SHUTDOWN STEP2 IF ANOTHER CDROM HAD BEEN CONNECTED TO YOUR SYSTEM, PROCEED TO STEP 3, OTHERWISE CONTINUE WITH STEP 2 PROCESS. 1) Power on system to start OS/2 2) Open OS/2 SYSTEM FOLDER from the DESKTOP 3) Open SYSTEM SETUP folder 4) Open SELECTIVE INSTALL folder 5) Select CD-ROM DEVICE SUPPORT box, and then OK 6) Select OTHER from CDROM device listing, then OK 7) Select INSTALL 8) Follow the on-screen instructions 9) SHUTDOWN system STEP3 1) Insert PCMCIA CDROM interface card into PCMCIA socket with drive connected and power applied to drive. 2) Power on system to start OS/2 3) CD-Rom should have a drive letter assigned. Following lines are added to CONFIG.SYS DEVICE=C:\OS2\BOOT\OS2CDROM.DMD /Q IFS=C:\OS2\BOOT\CDFS.IFS /Q BASEDEV=PCMATCD2.ADD /EXIRQ:3 /EXIRQ:4 DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VCDROM.SYS Note: The original drives shipped with an incorrect install procedure for OS/2. This required manual entry, but worked for an install process. 1) OS/2 System - System Setup - Selective Install - CD-Rom Support - Other devices - OK/Install, and DEVICE=C:\OS2\OS2CDROM.DMD /Q IFS=C:\CDFS.IFS /Q BASEDEV=OS2SCSI.DMD were added. 2) Then, remove OS2SCSI.DMD since SCSI support is not required. 3) OS/2 System - System Setup - Device Driver Install - A: - Install BASEDEV=PCMATACD2.ADD /EXIRQ:3 /EXIRQ:4 is added. 4) Add DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VCDROM.SYS to CONFIG.SYS. 5) Shutdown and reboot, and a drive letter should be assigned to the CDRom drive.
