DDS4 Driver Installation Procedure

STEP 1:  Load the Veritas cd in the cdrom drive.

STEP 2:  Click to install Backup Exec

STEP 3:  During the install, a menu will appear to install your tape device.  
1. Click on arrow to display tape devices.
2. Click on drivers from the tape device menu.
3. Click on add to display device drivers.
4. Click on have disk.
5. Click on browse, and the locate file menu will appear (If and error appears 
that drive a is not accessible click cancel and continue).
6. Find the cdrom drive for Veritas, then click on it to display file contents.
7. Click on the operating system folder (WINNT ETC…).
8. Click on the driver folders.
9. Click on I386 folder.
STEP 4:  After completion of the above steps the OEMSETUP appears.
	1:  Double click on the oemsetup, and the install from disk menu will appear.
2:  The correct path for the driver will appear in the window.
3:  Highlight the window of the path.
4:  Do a CTRLC, to copy, then click ok.
5:  A list of drivers will appear, click on the first driver:  Seagate 4mmdat (4mdat 
drivers, all except Sony). Then click ok.
6:  Windows NT Setup menu will appear.  
7:  Clear the window and press CTRLV to paste the correct path to the driver.
8: Click continue.

Note:  If the proper Seagate Tape device driver is not loaded.  Backup Exec will not 
see the tape drive.
