This adapter is based on the Alteon WebSystems ACEnic BaseT PCI Gigabit Ethernet Adapter. All drivers are in \NT40 directory. 1.1 Limitations ----------------- There is no known limitation. 2.0 Change History ____________________ This is the first IBM software release for the first IBM Netfinity Gigabit Ethernet Adapter: ALTNDIS.SYS version 1.17.16 3.0 Build and Installation Instructions _________________________________________ 1) Make sure the adapter is physically installed in your server or work station prior to installing the driver software. 2) Verify that your Windows NT system is upgraded with Service Pack 4 or later. 3) After logging in to NT 4.0, go to Network then Adapters 4) Select Add and click on 'Have Disk' 5) Enter A: for the source of the drivers ( or the CD-ROM drive if you are using the software CD ). 6) The adapter should then be identified in Select OEM Option as IBM Netfinity Gigabit Ethernet Adapter. 7) Click OK to start the drivers copying and installing process. 8) When drivers installation is completed, go to Properties and Create a Failover Team folder to form a Failover Team if you are installing multiple adapters and want to set up adapter teaming. 9) Click on Close and assign IP address either static or dynamic. 10) Reboot your system. 4.0 Configuration Information _______________________________ After following 3.0 above, your adapter should be all set to go. Note that this adapter is capable of 10/100/1000 Mbps via Cat 5 cabling.
