The Options page items available with this release are: Stretch Low-Res on Flat Panel - The SR9 provides two options for displaying low resolution modes on Flat Panels. Since digital Flat Panels have a fixed pixel resolution, display modes that do not use the full resolution will not fill the display area. When Stretch Low-Res on Flat Panel is enabled (default), any display resolution below the panel's maximum will be stretched as well as possible to fill the display area. The stretching will not be an even increment, and some distortion will occur. Also, the stretched modes may not extend to the edges of the panel's visible display area. When Stretch Low-Res on Flat Panel is disabled, display resolutions that are below the panel's maximum will be shown at their actual size, with none of the distortion caused by stretching the display. The lower resolutions will be centered in the panel's visible display area. Enable Flat Panel Dithering - In some applications, banding may be visible with color or grayscale gradient fills. Applications with large, gradual color transitions may show distinct shifts in color increment. Enabling the SR9's Flat Panel Dithering option may reduce this banding effect. When the option is enabled, some of the display colors and grayscales will be dithered (speckled) slightly to make transitions appear smoother. -------------------- 5.0 Troubleshooting -------------------- Problem: DirectX games or applications are not working properly. Solution: Make sure that DirectX 6.1 or later is installed. DirectX 6.1 is included on the SR9 distribution CD-ROM in the DirectX folder. Problem: Sierra's Half-Life is not displaying any textures. Solution: There is a compatibility issue with the SR9 OpenGL support and the latest upgrade patch for Sierra's Half-Life. To resolve the problem: 1. Launch the game as 'Half-Life Console' 2. Access the in-game console, and type 'GL_Texsort 1' The textures should now display correctly. --------------- 6.0 Trademarks --------------- The following terms are trademarks of companies: S3 and Savage4 - S3 Incorporated Number Nine, HawkEye, and SR9 - Number Nine Visual Technology Microsoft, Windows, and DirectX are trademarks or registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation.
