Dear customer,

Thankyou for purchasing an IBM Network Interface Card.

Below you will find useful and important information to avoid problems due
to restrictions and limitations coming up with some machines or
operating systems.
In addition this file contains latest news and informations not mentioned
in the installation manual and readme files!

For instructions about installing and configuring IBM FDDI MCA
network drivers, refer to the driver readme files.  You find the readme
files in the appropriate subdirectories of the IBM FDDI MCA Adapters
Option diskettes.


(1) RELEASE NOTES
=================

In general, all drivers now support ESS (End Station Support for
synchronous transmission).  Some drivers additionally support an
SBA (synchronous bandwidth allocator).  For detailed information on
this topic, please refer to the file SMTDOCU.TXT in the root of
Option Disk 1.

New Features:
- Windows 95 support

- Novell HSM (32-bit ODI)
  This driver is written to the new assembler specification 3.3.
  Reconnection in dual homing environments is now faster.

- SFT III
  A problem was fixed that caused failures in setups with long cables or
  many stations in the MSL ring.
- NT (NDIS3)
  There were some performance enhancements.


Known limitations:
- IBM LAN Server 4.0 DOS LAN Services (DOS client) comes with a new
  INSTALL.EXE which does not copy the IBMFDDIX.DOS driver binary to your
  harddisk.  Please check the \DOS\DOS-NDIS.DOC file on  Option Disk 1 for
  a solution of this problem.

- The feature ODI2NDI of the NTS/2 product does not support FDDI networks
  today.

- On the 7568_D40 an address conflict is not detected by the installation
  program of this model.  So you need to check that your IBM FDDI adapter
  does not use the range 0600 - 07FF.  A fix for the 7568_D40 installation
  program will be available later


Bug fixes:
All known bugs have been fixed.
