  LIMITATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS

  Use of multiple TURBOWAYS 100 Adapters in one computer is not supported.

  The IBM 8260 ATM Switch/Control Point must have a code level of v.1.0.8
  or later.  (The code level is displayed on the console.)  This level
  of code can be obtained by contacting your IBM technical support
  representative as described in Appendix F of the installation and
  testing manual.

  If you are using LES version 1.00F, then BEST_E_PK_RATE should be
  set to less than 100000 (Kbps) in PROTOCOL.INI.

  CHANGES TO THE INSTALLATION AND TESTING INSTRUCTIONS

  This section describes recent changes to the information in the Installation
  and Testing Manual that you received with this adapter.

  The maximum values for the AGING_PRD_M_CA and AGING_PRD_RD_CA parameters
  described in Tables C-1 and C-2 of the installation manual have been
  increased to 65,535 seconds.  Setting these parameters to higher values
  will reduce the probability that networking sessions will be disrupted
  during periods of inactivity.

  The default value for the SIZE_OF_RD_CA parameter described in Table C-2
  of the installation manual has been increased to 100 to allow more route
  descriptors to be cached by default when the system is used as a server.

  EXAMPLE INSTALLATION PROCESS

  For this example, OS/2 and MPTS (LAPS) are installed on the C: partition
  and the files to be installed are on the diskette containing the
  README.1ST you are reading.  This product comes with .NIF files that
  allow it to be installed via MPTS.

  Change the current directory to \IBMCOM and enter MPTS (or LAPS).

  Select OK on the first panel.

  Select INSTALL on the second panel.

  Input A: for the source location and then press ENTER.

  Two installations will take place since there are two .NIF files on the
  diskette.  After the files are installed, select the CONFIGURE option from
  the Main Menu, and then follow the instructions on the panel to select
  and configure the TURBOWAYS 100 Adapter through MPTS.

  COMMON ERRORS AND THEIR SOLUTIONS

  o Initialization Errors at Boot-time

    If an initialaztion error message appears, then it's possible that the
    files were not installed in the correct location.  Please refer to the
    INSTALLATION LOCATION OF FILES above to verify that the files are in
    their proper locations, especially DDIF.OUT, ATM0.CFG, RIC_BASE.REL and
    RIC_KERN.REL.

    If you have used MPTS and walked down the following path for
    installation, these files can be installed in the wrong directory.

      MPTS
        OK
          CONFIGURE
            CONFIGURE
              OTHER ADAPTERS

    If you have used MPTS to install the code, make sure you use the
    INSTALL button on the second panel for installation.  Please refer to
    the EXAMPLE INSTALLATION PROCESS above.
