README

This utility performs an inspection of the IDE hard disk drive in
your IBM system.  This utility will determine if your hard disk drive
is a Quantum drive and whether it contains a Philips or Panasonic motor chip.

Servicers should download this utility in conjunction with ECA 057,
Document ID MIGR-4VUMXK.

A blank 1.44MB 3.5 inch diskette will be needed.

Print this file so that you can refer to it during the
installation.


Downloading the update
----------------------
1. Click the file link to download the file from the web page.
2. When prompted, select a drive and directory in which to save 
   the downloaded file.


Extracting the update
---------------------
1. Backup and save any important data from your hard disk drive.
2. Click Start, select Find or Search, then click Files and Folders.
3. Insert a blank 1.44MB floppy diskette into the diskette drive.
4. Type pz1t06a.exe in the search field, then click Find Now. This
   will locate the pz1t06a.exe file you just downloaded.
5. Double-click the icon for pz1t06a.exe.
6. Follow the onscreen prompts.  The necessary files will be
   extracted to the diskette.
7. After the diskette has been created, power down and restart
   the system with the utility disk inserted.
