This package is required when you install Windows Me without the Product Recovery CD. What This Program Does ----------------------- Each of the ThinkPad listed below will have some conflicts or problems when you install Windows Me. This package contains some supplement files to solve the conflicts or problems for Windows Me. Copy C:\DRIVERS\WME\SUPP\APM\APMINST.INF file to the backup copy of Windows Me Boot Disk. From now on, use this backup copy as the Windows Me Boot Disk. 4. Type E:\>SETUP A:\APMINST.INF to start Windows Me installation; Where, E: is the CD-ROM drive letter for Windows Me CD-ROM. A: is the diskette drive letter for Windows Me Boot Disk. 5. Start Windows Me. 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive. 3. Right-click on the desktop to open Display Properties. 4. Click the Settings tab. 5. Click Advanced. 6. Click the Monitor tab, then click Change. 7. Click Have Disk. 8. Specify the location where the file IBMTPLCD.INF is located. and then click OK. 9. Select IBMTPLCD.INF. 10. Select one panel in the list you are using now. 11. Click Apply. 12. If your system and PC card have no problem, this registry fix is not needed. This registry patch disables Wake On Ring from PC Card modem, and Wake On LAN from PC Card network adapter. 1. Start Windows Me. 2. Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel. 3. Double-click the system icon. 4. Select the Device Manager tab. 5. Double-click PCMCIA socket. 6. Right-click Generic CardBus Controller and select Properties. 7. Click the Driver tab. 8. Click the Update Driver button. 9. Click the Specify the location of the driver (Advanced) option. 10. Click Next. 11. Select Specify a location:. 12. Click Browse and specify the directory name where you extracted this package PCI1520 subfolder, then click OK. 13. Click Next. 14. Confirm selecting Texas Instruments PCI-1520 CardBus Controller and click Next. 15. Click Next, 16. Click Finish 17. If opening System Setting Change dialog, click No to continue. 18.
