What This Package Does
-----------------------
This package provides the IBM Wireless LAN driver for Windows Me 
users.  This package enables or updates the IBM Wireless LAN function 
of the following ThinkPad computers:

   - ThinkPad i Series 1300 (1171- 1VU, 21U, 2AU, 5xx, 6WU, 6XU, 7xx, 8XU, 8ZU, 9WF, 9WU, 9Xx)

Installation Instructions   
-------------------------
 1. Start Windows.
 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
 4. Double-click the System icon.
 5. Click the Device Manager tab at the top of 
    the System Properties window.
 6. Double-click Other devices in the list.
 7. Click IBM Corporation-IBM High Rate Wireless LAN PC Card.
 8. Click the Properties button.
 9. Click the General tab.
10. Click the Reinstall Driver button.
11. Click Specify the location of the driver (Advanced).
12. Click the Next button.
13. Click Search for a better driver than the one your device is
    using now. (Recommended).
14. Click the Next button.
15. Click Specify a location;, and type 
    C:\DRIVERS\WME\WIRELESS.
16. Click the Next button.
17. Click the Next button.
18. Click the Finish button.
19. Restart the system.


Determining which version is installed 
--------------------------------------
 1. Start Windows.
 2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
 3. Open the System Icon.
 4. Click the Device Manager tab.
 5. Expand the Network section.
 6. Double-click IBM High Rate Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card.
 7. Click the Driver tab.
 8. Click the Driver File details button.
 9. Highlight the file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WLIBM48.sys.
    The file has the version number embedded.

    For example:
    The file version is displayed as 
        File version: 1.6.21.0
