WHAT THIS PACKAGE DOES

This package provides the Wireless LAN driver, Utility Software for
IBM Dual-Band Wi-Fi Wireless Mini-PCI Adapter Software for Microsoft
Windows 98SE.

The Wireless LAN driver enables or updates the Wireless LAN function
of the following ThinkPad computers with the following adapters

  - IBM Dual-Band Wi-Fi Wireless Mini-PCI Adapter.

This release supports the following systems:

  - ThinkPad G40

To determine if you should update the Wireless LAN driver, refer to
the "Summary of Changes" section.

To update the Wireless LAN driver, refer to the "Installation
Instructions" section.

Device Driver Installation Instructions

Windows 98SE

INF Installation
1.  Double-click Dual-Band Wi-Fi Wireless Mini-PCI Adapter, or PCI
    Ethernet Controller if this is the first installation to the system,
    in Device Manager.
2.  Click Update Driver in the Driver tab.
3.  Click Next twice.
4.  Specify the location of the driver.
5.  Click Next twice and follow instructions on the screen.
6.  Click Finish and Click Yes to restart the system when asked to.


Configuration Utility Installation Instructions
-----------------------------------------------

Windows 98SE
1. Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) is prerequisite. If your
   computer does not have WMI installed, go to Microsoft's web site and
   down load the latest WMI and install it first.
2. Run Setup.exe and follow the instructions.


Determining which version is installed
--------------------------------------
Checking the version of the Wireless LAN Driver that is installed
on your system:

 1. Double click wireless status icon in system tray and open
    Configuration Utility.
 2. Click the About tab.

on your system:
