What This Package Does
----------------------
This package provides the display driver for Windows NT 4.0 users.
This package enables or updates the display function of the following
ThinkPad computer:

  - ThinkPad X30

To determine if you should update the display driver or not, refer to
the "Summary of Changes" section.

To update the display driver, please refer to the "Installation 
Instructions" section.

 - (Fix) The LCD virtual screen function does not work after the
         display device is changed from external display to LCD 
         when the external display is set to a resolution of 
         1280x1024 and a refresh rate at 75Hz.
 - (Fix) If the system enters suspend mode after DVD (or MPEG1/
         MPEG2) playback is paused, the system hangs on resume.


Installation Instructions
-------------------------

INSTALL:
 1. Start Windows NT 4.0 and logon with administrative privileges.
 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
 4. Double-click the Display icon.
 5. Select the Settings tab.
 6. Click the Display Type button.
 7. Click the Change... button and then click the Have Disk... button.
 8. In the Copy manufacturer's files from field, type
    C:\DRIVERS\WNT\DISPLAY\WINNT4 and then click OK. If you extracted the
    files to a different location, specify that location instead.
 9. Select Intel Corporation 830M Graphics Controller Hub and click OK.
10. Click Yes.
11. Click OK.
12. Click Close.
13. Click Close.
14. Click the Yes button to restart the system for the driver to take
    effect.

UNATTENDED INSTALL:
NOTE: This is for system administrators' use only.

 1. Start Windows NT 4.0 and logon with administrative privileges.
 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start and then click Run.
 4. In the Run dialog window, type C:\DRIVERS\VIDEO\SETUP -K -SMS
    and click OK. If you extracted the files to a different location,
    specify that location instead.
 5. Follow the instructions on the screen.

DETERMINING WHICH VERSION IS INSTALLED:
 1. Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
 2. Double-click the Display icon.
 3. Select the Settings tab.
 4. Click the Display Type button. The version number will be displayed
    in the Adapter Type area.
