The HotSwap driver enables or updates the ThinkPad UltraBase Hot-Attach function of the following ThinkPad computers: - ThinkPad X20, X21 To determine if you should update the HotSwap driver, refer to the Summary of Changes section. To update the HotSwap driver, refer to the Installation instructions section. Installation instructions ------------------------- NOTE: To determine if you should update the HotSwap driver, refer to the Summary of Changes section. Update install: 1. Start Windows 95/98. 2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel. 3. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. 4. Click the Install/Uninstall tab at the top of the Add/Remove Programs Properties window. 5. Select ThinkPad UltraBase Hot-Attach Driver in the list. 6. Click the Add/Remove button. 7. Restart Windows 95/98. 8. Continue installation by the "Clean Install" procedure below. Clean istall: 1. Start Windows 95/98. 2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk drive. 3. Go to the directory in which you extracted the driver 4. Right mouse button click on the IBMBAY2.inf file. 5. Select install item menu on Context window menus 6. Restart the system Uninstall: 1. Start Windows 95/98 2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel. 3. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. 4. Click the Install/Uninstall tab at the top of the Add/Remove Programs Properties window. 5. Click ThinkPad Ultra Base Hot-Attach Driver in the list. 6. Click on the Add/Remove button. 7. Restart the system Determining what version is installed: 1. Click UltraBase X2 Tray Icon in Task Tray. 2. Select About. 3. Version (ex. IZUV12US) which is written at above Summary of Changes section will appear. For example, if Version : IZUV12US appears in the About Panel, it means version 1.02.
