What This Package Does
-----------------------
This package provides the following utility programs for Windows 
95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP users:
 - Personalization Editor program

This package enables or updates the utility programs of the following
ThinkPad computers:
 - ThinkPad 600, 600E, 600X
 - ThinkPad 770, 770E, 770ED, 770X, 770Z

Installation Instructions
-------------------------
 1. Start Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP. For Windows NT/2000/XP, logon 
    with a User ID of Administrator.
 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start, then click Run.
 4. Type [Program Path]\SETUP, and click OK.
    Program Path is the full path name where you extracted the package
    in the step 2, and click OK.
 5. Follow the instructions on the screen.

NOTE:
*1  From Version 4.17, package structure was re-organized.
    If you already installed "Utility package" for each operating 
    system, please uninstall it first before you install this package. 
    Then you need to install the following packages too.

      - ThinkPad Configuration package
      - Battery MaxiMiser and Power Management Features package      

*2  If you install a newer version after uninstalling the previous 
    version on Windows 2000/XP, reboot the system after 
    uninstallation.

Silent Installation Guide (for Unattended Installation support)
---------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE:
 This is for system administrators' use only.

 When you type [Program Path]\SETUP in the above installation guide,
 add "-S -SMS" parameter to SETUP.
 (You need to type "[Program Path]\SETUP -S -SMS" in "Run...". )

Determining which version is installed 
--------------------------------------
 1. Start the Personalization Editor program.
 2. Click the menu button on the left side of the main window.
 3. Select the About menu.
    About dialog will be displayed.
 4. The version will be displayed on the dialog.
