What This Package Does
----------------------
This package provides the following utility programs for Windows Me
users.
  - ThinkPad Configuration program
  - Fuel-Gauge program
  - Hibernation utility

This package enables or updates the utility programs of the following
ThinkPad computers:
  - ThinkPad 390E
  - ThinkPad 390X
  - ThinkPad i Series 1781

(Note:)
This program is only for Windows Me. How to check if your system has
been installed Windows Me or other Operating Systems such as Windows 98
or Windows 95 is:
 1. Start Windows.
 2. Click on 'Start' -> 'Settings' -> 'Control Panel'.
 3. Double-click on System icon.
 4. You can see the General information at 'System Properties'.
    System:
       Microsoft Windows Me
       4.90.3000.
    or you can see the Windows Me logo screen when the system boots up.

To determine if you have to update the utility programs or not, please
refer to the "Summary of Changes" section.

To update the utility programs, please refer to the "Installation Guide"
section.

Installation Guide
------------------
Notes:
- Before installing this driver, you must uninstall the old Configuration
  Utility program.


HOW TO UNINSTALL THE DRIVER:
 1. Start Windows Me.
 2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel.
 3. Double click the 'Add/Remove Programs' icon.
 4. Click the "Configuration Utility" so that it is highlighted.
 5. Click the 'Add/Remove' button.
 6. Follow the prompts on the screen.
 7. Shut down and restart the computer.


HOW TO INSTALL THE DRIVER:
 1. Start Windows Me.
 2. Extract this package to the hard disk.
 3. Click Start, then click Run.
 4. In the Open field, type "C:\DRIVERS\W9X\UTILITY\SETUP.EXE" to
    install the Utility driver. Click the 'OK' button to start the
    installation process. If you extracted the files to a different
    location, specify that location instead.
 5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
