Installation Instructions ------------------------- NOTES: - Before updating the utility programs, you must uninstall the previous version of the utility program first. Refer to the UNINSTALL: section. - Under Windows 95, Internet Explorer version 4 or later must be installed. Install: 1. Start Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP. 2. Extract this package to the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, then click Run. 4. Type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\UTILITY\SETUP and click OK. Or specify the installation program SETUP.EXE with full path you extracted in the step 2 and click OK. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. Uninstall: For Windows 95/98/Me/2000 users 1. Start Windows 95/98/Me/2000. 2. Right-click ThinkPad Configuration in the Tray. 3. Click Disable Tray icon. 4. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel. 5. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. 6. Select ThinkPad Configuration from the list, then click the Add/Remove button. 7. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstallation. For Windows XP users 1. Start Windows XP. 2. Right-click ThinkPad Configuration in the Tray. 3. Click Disable Tray icon. 4. Click Start, then Control Panel, then Add/Remove Programs. 5. Select ThinkPad Configuration from the list, then click the Change/Remove button. 6. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstallation. Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- Windows 95/98/Me users 1. Start Windows 95/98/Me. 2. Click Start, point to Find or Search, then click Files or Folders. 3. Click the Name & Location tab. 4. Type in TP98.EXE in the Named: field. And select My Computer in the Look in: field. 5. Click Find Now. The computer will search for the file in your system. If the file is not found, the program is not installed on your system. 6. Double-click the found file. 7. Click Help in the menu and click About... . The version will be displayed. Windows 2000 users 1. Start Windows 2000. 2. Click Start, point to Search, then click Files or Folders. 3. Click the Name & Location tab. 4. Type in TP98.EXE in the Search for files or folders Named: field. And select My Computer in the Look in: field. 5. Click Search Now. The computer will search for the file in your system. If the file is not found, the program is not installed on your system. 6. Double-click the found file. 7.
