Now it is available in the ThinkPad 390E, 390X - Configuration Utility for Windows NT 4.0, version 1.02 (or higher). When you install the Configuration Utility, it will automatically install the Fuel Gauge program. Notice To ThinkPad 390 users: This version of the Fuel Gauge program is dependent upon BIOS version R01_E1 or later. You should check the BIOS version on your system and update the BIOS, if necessary. The BIOS versions which support the Fuel Gauge program are as follows. The Fuel Gauge program displays the battery status and power mode (Maximum Performance, Maximum Battery Life, or Customized). This release supports the following system: - ThinkPad 390 To determine if you have to update the Fuel Gauge program or not, refer to the "Summary of Changes" section. To update the Fuel Gauge program, refer to the "Installation Guide" section. Installation Instructions ------------------------- - To ThinkPad 390E users, The Fuel Gauge program for ThinkPad 390E was removed from this package, and it is now available in the following package. ThinkPad 390E, 390X Configuration Utility for Windows NT 4.0 Version 1.02 (or higher) 1. Start Windows NT 4.0 and logon with administrative privilege. 2. Extract the Fuel Gauge package onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start then click Run. 4. In the Run dialog window, type C:\DRIVERS\WNT\FUEL\SETUP.EXE to install the Fuel Gauge utility. Click OK to start the installation process. If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that location instead. 5. Click Next to continue with the setup program. 6. Follow the instructions on the screen. 7. After the installation has completed, restart the computer. Uninstall Instructions ---------------------- 1. Start Windows NT 4.0 and logon with administrative privilege. 2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control Panel. 3. Double click the Add/Remove Programs icon. 4. Select Fuel Gauge so that it is highlighted. 5. Click the Add/Remove button. 6. Follow the prompts on the screen. 7. Shut down and restart the computer.
