What This Package Does
----------------------
This package provides the CD-ROM driver for the IBM USB Portable
CD-ROM Drive (P/N 33L5151) for DOS users.

The CD-ROM driver enables or updates the IBM USB Portable CD-ROM Drive
function of the following ThinkPad computers:

  - ThinkPad X20, X21, X22, X23, X24
  - ThinkPad X30, X31
  - ThinkPad X40

The following Operating Systems are supported:
  - PC-DOS version 6.2 or higher

To determine if you should update the CD-ROM driver, refer to the
"Summary of Changes" section.

To update the CD-ROM driver, refer to the "Installation Instructions"
section.

  NOTE:
  If you use the CD-ROM driver in this package, you need to also
  update the BIOS at the same time. You can download one of 2
  packages, either the "ThinkPad X20/X21 System Program Service
  Diskette Version 2.07 (or higher)" or the "ThinkPad X20/X21 ThinkPad
  BIOS Update Utility Version 2.07 (or higher)", and update the BIOS
  with it.

         To support this function, the CD-ROM driver for DOS in this

         be used with an IBM External USB Diskette Drive when the
         system is booted from the USB Diskette Drive by PC-DOS.

Installation Instructions
-------------------------
 1. Make a DOS boot diskette.
 2. Copy the USB_CD.SYS file to the DOS boot diskette.
 3. Copy the MSCDEX.EXE file from your operating system directory to the
    DOS boot diskette.
 4. Add the following statement to the config.sys file on the DOS boot
    diskette:
         DEVICE=USB_CD.SYS
 5. Add the following statement to the autoexec.bat on the DOS boot
    diskette:
         MSCDEX.EXE /D:TEAC-CDI
 6. Boot to DOS using this DOS boot diskette to use IBM USB Portable
    CD-ROM Drive.
