Installation instructions ------------------------- NOTE: - ThinkPad Software Installer provides install/(uninstall) wizard for this package. Uninstalling for Windows 98/98 SE/Me: 1. Start Windows 98/98 SEMe. 2. Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel. 3. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. 4. Select IBM ThinkPad UltraNav Driver. 5. Click Add/Remove. 6. Click Yes. 7. Click OK four times. 8. Restart the system. Installing for Windows 98/98 SE/Me: 1. Start Windows 98/98 SE/Me. 2. Click Start, then click Run. 3. Click the Browse button. 4. Select the folder where IBM ThinkPad UltraNav Driver package is stored. 5. Select Setup.exe. 6. Click the Open button. 7. Click OK. 8. Select a language when Choose Setup Language popup panel appears, and click OK. 9. Click Next on Welcome panel. 10. Select the destination folder where IBM ThinkPad UltraNav driver will be installed, and click Next. 11. Click Next on Start Copying Files panel. 12. Click Finish, and restart the system. Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- Windows Me: 1. Start Windows Me. 2. Click Start, point to Search, and click For Files or Folders. 3. In the Search for files or folders named: field, type in SynTPFcs.dll. 4. In the Look in: field, specify Local Disk (C:). 5. Click the Search Now button. Windows will now search your hard drive for that file. If the file is not found, then the UltraNav driver is not installed on your system. 6. Right click "SynTPFcs.dll" stored in folder. 7. Click Properties. 8. Click Version tab. 9. Check the File version. Windows 98/98 SE: 1. Start Windows 98/98 SE. 2. Click Start, point to Find, and click Files or Folders. 3. Click the Name & Location tab. 4. In the Named: field, type in SynTPFcs.dll. 5. In the Look in: field, specify Local Hard drives (C:,D:). 6. Click the Find Now button.
