If the user installs this package manually, follows the instruction below. Clean install 1. Download this package from Web, and extract this package onto your hard disk drive. 2. Connect the Ultrabay Plus Device Carrier into the slot which has the Ultrabay Plus Hot/Warm swap function, and start Windows 2000 as an administrator. Windows will automatically start the Found New Hardware Wizard. 3. click Next and select the Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended) option, and then click Next. 4. Select Specify a location option, and click Next. 5. Specify C:\DRIVERS\W2K\UBAYPLUS and click OK 6. Follows the instruction on the screen. Update installation 1. Connect the Ultrabay Plus Device Carrier into the slot which has the Ultrabay Plus Hot/Warm swap function, and start Windows 2000 as an administrator. 2. Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel 3. Double-click System 4. Select the Hardware tab, then click Device Manager. 5. Click View; then select Device by type. 6. Double-click System devices. 7. Double-click IBM ThinkPad Ultrabay Plus Carriage. 8. Select the Driver tab; then click Update Driver. 9. Click Next. 10. Select the Display a list of known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver option. 11. Click Next. 12. Click Have Disk button. 13. Specify C:\DRIVERS\W2K\UBAYPLUS and click OK 14. Select IBM ThinkPad Ultrabay Plus Carriage from the Models list, and click Next. 15. Click Next, and follows the instruction on the screen. (Unattended installation) This is for system administrators' use only. 1. Start Windows 2000, logon with administrative privileges. 2. Extract the drivers to the hard disk drive. 3. Add a directory to the $OEM$ subdirectory on the server For example: C:\WinDist\i386\$OEM$\$1\PnPDrvs\BayPlus (The directory name under $1 is changeable.) 4. Add the directory to the OEMPnPDriversPath statement in UNATTEND.TXT For example: [Unattended] OEMPreInstall=Yes OEMPnPDriversPath="PnPDrvs\BayPlus;" 5. Copy all the files from the driver directory into the new directory. For example: copy C:\DRIVERS\BayPlus\*.* C:\WinDist\i386\$OEM$\$1\PnPDrvs\BayPlus Determining which version is installed: Check the date stamp of the VNESTWDM.SYS file under the SYSTEM32\DRIVERS directory.
