Start Windows 98/Me/2000/XP or Windows NT4.0. For Windows 2000/XP and Windows NT 4.0, logon with a User ID of Administrator. 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start and then click Run. 4. Type [Program Path]\SETUP, and click OK. Program Path is the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. NOTE: For Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP user. Battery MaxiMizer becomes grey-out during 30 seconds after startup of Battery Maximizer. This is not a problem. Battery Maximizer is trying to gather the correct battery information during this period. Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- Please find the DISKCU.VER file in the package before installation. You can see the version information using a text editor. Check the date stamp of each file to see which version is installed. In the Look in: field, specify Local Hard drives (C:,D:). 6. Click the Find Now button. Windows will now search your hard disk drive for csmbatt.vxd. If the file is not found, then the battery driver is not installed on your system. 7. Scroll the window to the right and look at the Modified column to check the date/time of the the file. Windows NT4.0 1. Start Windows NT. 2. Click Start, point to Find, then click Files or Folders. 3. Click the Name & Location tab. 4. In the Named: field, type csmbatt.sys. 5. In the Look in: field, specify Local Hard drives (C:,D:). 6. Click the Find Now button. Windows will now search your hard disk drive for csmbatt.sys. If the file is not found, then the battery driver is not installed on your system. 7. In the Found part of the window, select the csmbatt.sys file located in C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS. 8. Scroll the window to the right and look at the Modified column to check the date/time of the the file. Windows 2000 1. Start Windows 2000. 2. Click Start, point to Search, and click For Files or Folders. 3. In the Search for files or folders named: field, type csmbatt.sys. 4. In the Look in: field, specify Local Hard drives (C:,D:). 5. In the Search Companion panel, click All files and folders. 4. In the All or part of the file name: field, type csmbatt.sys. 5. In the Look in: field, specify Local Hard Drives (C:,D:). 6. Click the Search button. Windows will now search your hard disk drive for csmbatt.sys. If the file is not found, then the battery driver is not installed on your system. 7. In the Search Results panel, select the csmbatt.sys file located in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS. 8.
