What This Package Does

This package provides the following utility programs for
Windows 98/Me/2000/XP users:
 - Presentation Director

This package enables or updates the utility programs of the following
ThinkPad computers:

Windows 98/Me/2000/XP support:
 - ThinkPad R30, R31 (*1)
 - ThinkPad s31 (*2)
 - ThinkPad i Series 1200(1161-42U/62U/92U) (*1)
 - ThinkPad i Series 1300(1171-5WU/5BU/7WU/6LU/9LU) (*1)
 - ThinkPad i Series 1200(1161-43U) (*1)
 - ThinkPad i Series 1300(1171-9MU/8MU/9NU/6MU/6NU/4MU/
                          9XU/8XU/9ZU/5XU/5CU/5ZU/6XU) (*1)
 NOTES  *1: Wireless model support Windows Me/2000 only.
        *2: Support for Windows Me/2000/XP only.

Installation Instructions
-------------------------
NOTES:                   
- If you have installed the "Utility Wizard", uninstall it and reboot
  first before you install this package.  Then you need to install the
  following package:
    - IBM ThinkPad Battery MaxiMiser and Power Management Features
      package
- ThinkPad Software Installer provides install/uninstall wizard for
  this package.


 1. Start Windows 98/Me/2000/XP. For Windows 2000/XP, logon with
    a User ID of Administrator.
 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start and then click Run.
 4. In the Run dialog window, type
    C:\DRIVERS\WIN\PDIRECT
    and click OK.
    If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that
    location instead.
 5. Follow the instructions on the screen.

UNATTENDED INSTALL:
NOTE:
 This is for system administrators' use only.

 1. Start Windows 98/Me/2000/XP. For Windows 2000/XP, logon with
    a User ID of Administrator.
 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start and then click Run.
 4. In the Run dialog window, type
    C:\DRIVERS\WIN\PDIRECT -S -SMS
    and click OK.
    If you extracted the files to a different location, specify that
    location instead.
 5. Follow the instructions on the screen.


Determining which version is installed 
--------------------------------------
 1. Start Presentation Director Wizard and see the first page.
 2. You will see the version information on the screen.
