Double-click Network adapters, then double-click Intel PRO/100 SP Mobile Combo Adapter 4. Click the Advanced tab 5. Select Smart Power Down in the property window and change the value to Disabled. 6. Click OK Note: Windows XP contains a native driver for Ethernet and it is loaded automatically. If you need to update the driver, follow the instructions below: To update the driver, 1. Click the + mark to expand Network adapters. 5. Right-click Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection or Intel PRO/100 SP Mobile Combo Adapter in Network adapters and select Properties. 6. Click the Driver tab. 7. Click Update Driver... 8. Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) and click Next. 9. Select Search for the best driver in these locations. 10. Select Include this location in the search. Click Browse and click the + mark to specify the Ethernet driver location, and click OK. 11. Click Next, the driver installation starts. 12. Click Finish. Unattended Installation ----------------------- DOS driver for unattended installation: For customers who need unattended installation, the DOS driver (E100B.DOS) is included in DOS sub-directory in this package. Unattended installation instructions are also included in PUSH sub-directory. The DOS driver can be used only for this purpose. OS/2 ---- OS/2 driver is included in OS2 sub-directory in this package. To install or update the device driver, use the standard tools provided by the operating system and point to the media or directory containing the drivers, such as follows: 1. Double-click the OS/2 System. 2. Double-click the System Setup . 3. Double-click the MPTS Network Adapters and Protocol Services. 4. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen. Right-click the My Computer icon. 2. Click Find. 3. Type one of the NDIS driver names in Named: field. For example, if you are using Windows 2000, type E100bnt5.sys in the field. 4. Click on the Find Now button. 5. It lists the NDIS driver(s). If it does not list the NDIS driver, the Ethernet device driver is not installed in your system. 6. Right-click on the NDIS driver that is found in the Windows folder. 7. Click on the Properties. 8. Click on the Version tab. 9. Click on the Product Version in the Items name: field. DOS NDIS2: 1. Find the file E100b.dos. 2. To determine if a driver update is needed, check the date of the driver file. If the date is older then 04/17/2001, then you need to update your driver. DOS ODI: 1. Find the file E100BODI.COM. 2. Execute it in DOS environment, it shows the following version information.
