What This Packages Does
-----------------------
This package provides the Modem driver for Windows 95/98/NT 4.0.
The Modem driver enables or updates the Modem function of the 
following ThinkPad systems:

   - ThinkPad 240   (with Internal Modem)
   - ThinkPad 240X  (with Internal Modem)

To determine if you need to update the Modem driver, refer to the  
"Summary of Changes" section.

To update the Modem driver, refer to the "Installation Instructions"
section.

Installation Instructions   
-------------------------
- Overwrite Install or Uninstall -
 1. Start Windows 95/98/NT 4.0.
 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
 3. Click Start, then point to Run.
 4. Type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MODEM\LTREMOVE.EXE in the Open box and
    click Yes.
 5. Follow the instructions. The system will restart.
 6. If overwrite installation, follow the steps in ( Clean Install )
    section described below.

- Clean Install -
 1. Start Windows 95/98/NT 4.0.
 2. If you have not already, extract this package onto the hard disk 
    drive.
 3. Click Start, then point to Run.
 4. Type C:\DRIVERS\WIN\MODEM\SETUP.EXE in the Open box and 
    click Next.
 5. Follow the instructions, and restart the system.


Determining Which Version Is Installed 
-------------------------------------
 1. Select Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to 
    Communications, then click Hyper Terminal.
 2. Double click the Hyper Terminal icon.
 3. Type any name, and click OK.
 4. Choose Lucent modem, then click Cancel.
 5. Type ati3, and press the Enter key.
    The version will be displayed.
