Modem Features III for Windows Me

This program is only for Windows Me.

How to check if your system has been installed with Windows Me or 
another OS such as Windows 98 or Windows 95 is to:

1) Open Control Panel.
2) Select System icon.
3) You can see the General information at System Properties.
   System:
       Microsoft Windows Me 
       4.90.3000.  

or you can see the Windows Me logo screen when the system boots up.

language system.


What This Package Does
-----------------------
This package provides the modem driver for Windows Me.
This package enables or updates the modem function.


This release supports the following systems:
   - ThinkPad i Series 1200
   - ThinkPad i Series 1300

Installation Instructions
-------------------------
Note: If the audio driver has not been installed on the system,
       install the audio driver prior to the modem driver.

 1. Start Windows Me.
 2. Extract this package onto the hard drive.
 3. Click Start, then click Run.
 4. Type in C:\DRIVERS\W9X\MODEM\SETUP.EXE in the Open box and
    click the OK button.
 5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
 6. Restart the system for the driver to take effect.

 
Determining what version is installed
-------------------------------------
 1. Start Windows Me.
 2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
 3. Open the System icon
 4. Click the Device Manager tab.
 5. Expand the Modem section.
 6. Select Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR and click Properties.
 7. Click the Driver tab.
 8. Click the Driver File Details button.
 9. Highlight the file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\LTSMVCD.VXD.
    The file has the version number embedded.

    For example:
    The version is displayed as 
        File version: RC 9A 3.1.66 05/12/2000 00:08:22

        Where the version is 3.1.66
