IBM ThinkPad July 13, 2000 ThinkPad AL Modem Enabler Diskette for Windows 95/98/NT4.0 Version 2.00 (Driver Version 5.74) ====================================================================== What This Diskette Does ----------------------- This package enables the ThinkPad AL Modem for following countries' models using Windows 95/98/NT4.0. - Australia - Indonesia - Malaysia - New Zealand - Phillipines - Singapore - Thailand - Vietnam Supported Models ---------------- The following ThinkPad models are supported. - ThinkPad A20m/A20p (with MiniPCI Modem) - ThinkPad T20 (with MiniPCI Modem) To determine if you need to update the Modem driver, refer to the "Summary of Changes" section. To update the modem driver, refer to the "Installation Instructions" section. Released Versions ----------------- Version 1.0 Initial release for ThinkPad A20m/A20p/T20 Version 2.0 Update Setup program. Update modem driver files. Summary of Changes ------------------ Where: Version (for example, 1.00 means Version 1.00) (New) New function or enhancement (Fix) Correction to existing function <1.0> - (New) Support for ThinkPad A20m/A20p/T20 <2.0> - (Fix) Update setup program that can enable the 'disabled' modem device. - (Fix) Update the modem driver. Installation Instructions ------------------------- Remove Disabled Modem entry (for Windows 95/98 only) 1. Click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel. 2. Double click the System icon. 3. Click the Device Manager tab. 4. Select IBM Empty Modem Slot in the DisabledModemClass entry. 5. Click the Remove button then click OK in the confirm window. Installing the modem driver 1. Insert the modem enabler diskette 2. Click the Start button and select Run. 3. Type A:\install.exe in the Run window. 4. In the Welcome dialog, click the Next button. 5. In the Licence Agreement dialog, read the Licence Agreement carefully and click the Next button. 6. Check the Installation folder and click the Next button 7. When the dialog asks you if you want to create the folder, click the Yes button. 8. The package will unpacked and start the modem driver setup program automatically. 9. In the modem setup program window, click the OK button. 10. Setup program will install the modem driver. 11. After the setup is complete, restart the system.
