What This Packages Does ----------------------- This package provides the Modem driver for Windows 95. The Modem driver enables or updates the Modem function of ThinkPad AMR Modem of the following ThinkPad computers: - ThinkPad T23 - ThinkPad A30, A30p - ThinkPad X22, X23 To determine if you should update the Modem drive, refer to the Summary of Changes section. MANUAL INSTALL: 1. Start Windows 95. 2. Extract this package onto the hard drive. 3. Click Start, then click Run. 4 Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. MANUAL UNINSTALL: 1. Start Windows 95. 2. Click Start, point to Settings, then click Control panel. 3. Double-click 'Add/Remove Programs' icon in the Control Panel. 4. Select Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR. 5. Click 'Add/Remove' button. 6. Click 'Yes' button in the confirmation window. 7. When asked to restart the system, click 'Yes' button. If you don't remove the modem H/W, the Windows detect the modem in the next boot. HOW TO DETERMINE WHAT VERSION IS INSTALLED: ------------------------------------------- If there is an alphabet letters in the version number, check the date stamp of each file which version is installed. Start Windows 95. 2. Click Start, point to Find, then click Files or Folders. 3. Click the Name & Location tab. 4. In the Named: field, type the each file name listed above table. 5. In the Look in: field, specify Local Hard drives (C:,D:). 6. Click the Find Now button. Windows will now search your hard drive for the specified file. If the file is not found, then the Modem driver is not installed on your system. 7. In the Found part of the window, select the file name located in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM. 8. Scroll the window to the right and look at the Modified column to check the date/time of the each file.
