What This Package Does ----------------------- This package provides the modem driver for Windows 98SE. NOTE: This problem only happens in simplified Chinese environment because the previous driver package contains an unnecessary file. The unnecessary file was removed and the driver was repacked. If you have already installed the driver version 3.1.97, you do not need to install this release of the driver. Installation Instructions ------------------------- NOTE: If the audio driver has not been installed on the system, install the audio driver prior to the modem driver. 1. Start Windows 98SE. 2. Extract this package onto the hard disk drive. 3. Click Start, then click Run. 4. Type C:\DRIVERS\W98\MODEM\SETUP.EXE in the Open box and click OK. 5. Follow the instructions on the screen. 6. Restart the system for the driver to take effect. Determining which version is installed -------------------------------------- 1. Start Windows 98SE. 2. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel. 3. Double-click System. 4. Click the Device Manager tab. 5. Expand the Modem section. 6. Select Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR and click Properties. 7. Click the Driver tab. 8. Click Driver File Details. 9. Highlight the file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\LTSM.VXD.
