What This Package Does
-----------------------
This package contains ThinkScribe update utility for Windows98, ME, and 2000.
ThinkScribe update utility provides the capability to update the firmware
on the ThinkScribe digital notepad.
The following model is supported:
   - ThinkPad TransNote

To determine if you have to update the firmware or not, please
refer to the "Summary of Changes" section.

To update the firmware, please refer to the "Installation Guide"
section.

Installation instructions

NOTE
To determine if you have to update the firmware or not, please
refer to the "Summary of Changes" section.

For Windows 98/Me/2000

To Uninstall an older version of Firmware:
--------------------------------------------
New firmware can be installed over the existing firmware.

To Install the new version of Firmware:
-----------------------------------------
  1. Start Windows 98/Me/2000.
  2. Make sure that ThinkScribe digital notepad is powered on.
  3. Make sure that Ink Transfer program is running as follows,
      1) Move cursor at the Ink Transfer icon (yellow pen tip) in the system tray.
      2) Click the right button
      3) Make sure that the port is enabled. 
  4. Download and extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
  5. Run the SETUP.EXE from the directory
  6. Select the Update Firmware button.
  7. Read the notification and click OK. 
  8. Select "FIRM194.SR"
  9. Click the Open button and wait for completion.
 10. Click OK and exit the SETUP.EXE.

Determining which version is installed
--------------------------------------
  1. Start the IBM ThinkScribe Notepad Properties by clicking Start, pointing to 
     Programs, pointing to IBM Ink Manager Pro, pointing to Utililities, then 
     click ThinkScribe Notepad Properties.     
  2. Click the Device Tab.
  3. The Firmware version is in the Firmware section.
